Dara GannonDara received a BFA degree and an Art Education Certificate from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is a Chicago Public High School Art Educator and member of the Local School Council, and has received the Oppenheimer Family Grant and Expanding the Arts Grant for her teaching. “I moved to the Jefferson Park neighborhood after graduating from the Art Institute of Chicago and accepting a job at a nearby high school. My first year in Jefferson Park was very difficult. I’d been surrounded by art my whole life and then there was nothing, no one to share my creative ideas with. A piece of me was missing…until I walked up the steps at 4423 N. Milwaukee Avenue and met a guy named Gregor and Charybdis herself. Charybdis brings me the creative outlet I was yearning for, a community of amazing people to create and share ideas with. Charybdis is the answer I was looking for.” Back to Top |
